Throughout Scripture, the story is God and God's people is told. This story is incredible, partially because God chooses to use ordinary people to do extraordinary things. God doesn't just choose them and call them, God also equips them with gifts so that they many serve. As we hear this, we may think of the Biblical "heroes" like David with his sling shot or Noah's building an ark. But God also uses people to do small things with great love. Throughout our lives, we are called to love God and love our neighbors as ourselves and God has given us gifts to serve these great commandments.
In 1 Corinthians 12, Paul talks about Spiritual Gifts which are given to the many members of the Body of Christ. A variety of gifts are given, but they all come from the same God, they are all used to serve the same purpose. No gifts are better or worse than others and all are needed to build up the Body of Christ. What are your gifts?
