Confirmation is a practice in the Lutheran Church, as well as many other denominations, that affirms one's baptism, typically around 9th grade. As Lutherans, we practice baptism at all ages. Confirmation is an opportunity for a young member to learn more about the foundations of the faith and affirm their baptism. This includes a 2 year class lead by the pastor. In this class, the confirmation students will learn and discuss topics including: The Hebrew Bible (Old Testament), The New Testament, Lutheranism, and Faith in Daily Life.
When the student is ready, they will be confirmed during a Sunday morning worship service. If you are interested in learning more about confirmation, talk to the pastor. |
